Just as we were discussing in class, the way that a presidential candidate presents his or her ideas and beliefs are very important. Both McCain and Obama have different strategies to solve the economic crisis at hand. They are presenting their ideas in very interesting ways that will appeal to all people differently. Obama believes that the government is to blame for the falling economy. He believes that the government should have been monitering the housing values in the United States more closely. The secret message in this, is that the government may have to become larger because he will need thousands of people to help him with this plan, which is the what most citicens don't want

to hear. McCain on the other hand believes that the "Wall Street Fat Cats" are to blame for the economy crisis in our country. He thinks that they have been greedy and that they need to be punished. This task does not requirwe a larger government because it is a one man job to him and he does not need thousands of other people to help him. As a citicen of the United States and a future voter, I believe that John McCain has a plan that appeals more to the average American and that his plan is much easier to execute than Obama's.

I believe that it was a little of both. I think that the "Fat Cats" are to blame because all they care about is making more money even though they could retire when they are 45 and never have to work again. They are the most corrupt people. They would put anyone on the street, even their own kids, just to make another buck. That is how corrupt they are. The government is also to blame because they should have done something about this earlier. When economists started to see Wall Street fall a little and with no end in sight, they told the government and they quickly decided to stall. However, my personal belief is that this "War" in Iraq has taken such a toll on our economic budget, that we could not do anything, even when this whole catastrophe started. That $700 Billion didn't even come from the U.S., it came from foreign countries that will add onto our already $3 Trillion deficit. Now, one of the richest Americans, Warren Buffett, is starting to invest in the economy and has lent lots of money to the U.S. government and he will end up making close to an unlimited amount of money from this whole disaster. In the end, if you haven't figured out my bias yet, I would vote (if I could) for Obama because he can deal with these types of situations more carefully. I'm not sure what McCain would do, but I'm certain that he would do more harm than good because of his attitude of being very erratic. It's very hard to tell what he's going to do.
